Solo Art Show

This afternoon I had the opening of of my solo art show at the library. I couldn't have asked for a better afternoon. I saw so many faces I knew and one or two new ones. I want to extend a special thanks to the ladies of the library, my family, the Eriksson's, Amy Portofe, Patty Haberman, the kind ladies from Dr. Desmone's office, Mary Anna and Toni. You all warmed my heart to see you there and support me.

I had to begin the show by introducing myself, talking about my art process, etc. I didn't know they were going to ask me to speak but I got through it. I am not the best public speaker just to explain that statement but everyone was easy on me. I wasn't able to take any pictures myself but there were a few people there taking some shots, so I will post some pictures soon for you.

The show will be up for the month of November and all of the art up is for sale. A few pieces already sold. On that note, I would like to say that the original of my large tree has sold to a special lady. So I am sorry to say that it is no longer available. I plan to be at The New Bern Farmer's Market this coming Saturday, so please stop by and say hello. I will not have any original artwork available for sale that day but they are available for sale at the library. I will have my jewelry, art prints and some other goodies there though.

Finally Ready For The Show

Today I completed framing and preparing for my solo show at The Havelock NC Library. I have been working non-stop to prepare for this show and I am so ready to share all of my new pieces. The show will have an opening reception on November 4th starting at either 6 or 6:30pm that Sunday. All work that will be in the show will be for sale. If anyone would like an unframed print of any of the originals and don't see one already at the library, I would be more than happy to prepare a print for you. Ever since I moved to North Carolina I have been very blessed in being a member at The New Bern Farmer's Market. It is because of them that I was found at their market and asked to do this show. This week an article/interview will be printed in The Havelock News Paper this Thursday about me and my artwork. This also is so exciting!! I made sure to mention all my friends at The Farmer's Market in hopes we would get new faces to visit us there. So please check out the article.

Below are a few images of some of the framed work that will be at the show at The Havelock Library. I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoyed making them. Now its time for me to start preparing for all my Christmas ornaments for the holiday season. I will have new ornament s this year so get excited.

Saying Good Bye & New Possibilities

Today was such a wonderful day at The New Bern Farmer's Market. We had such a wonderful crowd that shared their Easter Saturday with us. I always love the chance to meet with our regulars and make new friends. Today I said good bye to a few of my original works and placed them in the hands of their new keepers. My chair paper cut went home with a very kind gentleman from New York state and my lunar moth paper cut/ drawing went home with a local New Bern, NC lady.

Last but not least my butterfly book page drawing and paper cut went home with another New Bern, NC local. Oh, she was so kind and I enjoyed talking to her so much. Its turns out that she is the wife of one of the owners/ partners of Artworks Gallery in New Bern, NC. She was so encouraging and invited me to visit the gallery.

I have passed the Artworks Gallery a few times before an have always wanted to go in and explore. Alas, there never seemed to be an opportunity but I made sure to make time today after the NBFM. I was so impressed with the space and the amazing work in the gallery. I would love to become part of their community of artists. I left my contact information and hope to visit the gallery again soon.

New Artwork For My Wall

I just want to thank everyone that made our St. Patrick's Day so much fun this past Saturday at The New Bern Farmer's Market. I can't say enough how nice it is to meet new friends and visit with our regulars. I look forward to my Saturdays at the market even more now that I miss one Saturday every month because of my new job.
I am excited to share a new piece of art I have for my wall. I made an artists trade and came home with this awesome bike as my bounty.

This framed print that I adore is now proudly hanging on my wall. I have blogged about Patty before and recommend anyone to pay her booth a visit at The New Bern Farmer's Market. She just started creating some beautiful sketchbooks/ notebooks/ or journals that are completely handmade. She puts a lot of love and work into them and it shows. I have to admit I have a weak spot for journals. As an artist I really can't have enough of those. So please do yourself a favor if you love journals like me and check them out. :)

No NBFM For This Busy Girl

So life has taken me on all kinds of twists and turns lately. Thankfully a lot of those turns recently have been a blessing. I have started a new job a few weeks back and my schedule has become crazy again. That being said I will not be attending The New Bern Farmer's Market this Saturday, March 10, 2011. I will as always try to make new things for the next market day between now and then. It seems my Etsy site has become delayed but I will not get discouraged. I will get there. Since last Saturday I have been completely excited about a purchase I made at the market. I bought a original Jennifer Nance silhouette. When I first started selling at the NBFM I would always have visitors tell me all about her and how awesome her work was. So last week I got the chance to meet her and she was super nice. I love her work and can't wait to talk to her again. We hope to work together on a show in the future. ( fingers crossed ) Below is her silhouette hanging proudly on my wall.

OTHER THINGS............

Silhouette I am working on of my parents.

I want something extra special for my wall. I am inspired to create all of my family members and put them on my wall of paper art. I will update my progress little by little. I am sorry I will not be at The New Bern Farmer's Market this Saturday. I will see everyone next Saturday!! Please feel free to contact me with any special request orders.
